Lemon curd, cream cheese frosting mini cupcakes. I only know  because my wonderful friend Erin Brown told me what she made. You must stop in if you are in KC!!   http://dolcebakingcompany.com/

Starkers is one of my favorite restaurants! The Chef, Owner John McClure could not be more gracious and kind. I think it's in poor taste to talk money, so I won't say how much he donated, but he gave a gift card for a Chef's tasting for my fundraiser. His huge heart and generosity brought tears to my eyes!!! http://www.starkersrestaurant.com/

REALITY!

FRIDAY AUGUST 19TH- SATURDAY AUGUST 20TH

I'm revved up and getting ready to go!! My energy is renewed after taking Friday off from the gym. The change of scene doing massage for 96.5 Buzz Beach Ball music festival helped. Friday I was running about a half hour behind, (another side effect I have from carb depletion) I was still quite tired and a little scrambled, but I managed to make it the LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in one piece around 12:30 and stayed until 9pm.  The Chef Isabella of Incubus, and a few other guys from Awolnation dove in for massage when I got there. The rest of the day was kind of a bust. The highlight was my lovely friend Tionna showed up help out. It was slow after the bands started going on stage, so we ended up catching up on all things "competition" and hanging around backstage in the laundry room.  Are you wondering what we are doing the the laundry room?? Well, the life of a rock star on the road is not as glamorous as people think. There are makeshift production offices for each band.  All the NEEDS of the entertainers are set-up the same way. Where else would you put a makeshift massage studio? Somewhere where there is extra towels and it smells clean. The production crew had us set-up a in the laundry room. Events like this are interesting because you get to see how things operate behind the scenes and catch a good show, but you never know exactly how much money you'll make and you are there for a LONG time.  Thank god the day wasn't wasted and I made a few extra $$$ for my trip!! It suppose it would have been cool to bump into Gwen Stephani or see Gavin Rossdale. Instead I was graced with a Dave Navarro sighting.  Yeah, whatever. lol I find it funny people are starstruck. Although, come to think of it... I might be a little giddy meeting some of the Pros in Canada. I'm seriously going to try and not act like a complete groupie when I meet them in person.

I am in such anticipation of the trip!! Packing my bags and literally ready to get the show on the road.   But I'll be busy today with personal training clients this morning and will be heading to the gym for ONE of my last sessions. I'm lifting moderate weight- hitting most of my body and only doing 30 minutes of cardio. I've been using the Elliptical the last week. It's not my favorite piece of cardio eqipment, but I find that it's been easier on my knees and hip flexors. My body needs all the relief I can get at this point.

Oh, and the  necessary Costco trip for eggs and asparagus, and I hope to squeeze in a Mani& pedi. If not today, I will definitely be getting one tomorrow because my grooming habits have gone by the wayside. Don't judge. lol If you are new to competing or reading any blog of female competitors I guarantee there are others like me. Hairy legs need to be waxed,  my nails need to be done and my hair needs to be washed a little more often. I'm sweating 2 sometimes 3 times a day and there is no way I can look and smell good all the time. Enough of that! It's kinda gross. hee-hee

I began water loading and few days ago and I'll be chugging 2 gallons of water today.  I drink a minimum of a gallon of water a day, so I don't find it difficult to get it all down. My diet is as boring as playing with a wet Kleenex. Green Tea, no coffee. No coffee could be another reason I was so cranky and bummin the other day.  lol Anyone else with me on this one?
Oats, egg whites, chicken-no salt, Tilapia, asparagus and almond butter or blanched almonds. Just a few more days and I get to have some variety!!

Stormy and I have already been planning our menu.  I'm going to do what I did last time and stick with a clean diet 80 to 90 percent of the time and add some variety in with 1 or 2 meals of my day. We eat healthy, so I don't anticipate, nor do I want to go overboard with anything. This part of the competition diet is extreme enough for me. I won't make or eat all of this in one week, but this is the list we have planned so far.

Homemade Hummus, chili, corn bread, popcorn, tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, crunchy tacos, sushi, chips and salsa, Indian food, pasta with puttanesca sauce, Coq au Vin, Oklahoma Joe's BBQ! Night of the Living Bar-B-Q is the BOMB!!  http://www.oklahomajoesbbq.com/oj/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

It's been a long road. 6 months of training starting on February 22nd 2011 for the WBFF Central US Championship, a few weeks off and straight into training for the WBFF World Championship.  It's been a whirlwind of hard work and nonstop movement!  Stormy and I moved into a new home on May 1st, just 3 weeks before the first WBFF event. I haven't had time to make this place feel like home and I am looking forward to cooking, spending time reconnecting with the outside world and having friends over, filling the house with love and nesting this fall.
